My Approach

I am an attachment-based therapist, which means I’m interested in your earliest relationships and how they helped form your current relational style. I incorporate elements of Emotionally Focused Therapy, an evidence-based, attachment-oriented approach, in my work with clients. I also use elements of Relational Life Therapy, which looks at patterns of conflict and power dynamics in relationships.

I’m also curious about your relationship with your body - how you experience, interpret, and communicate about your emotions. This is where somatic approaches like EMDR or Reiki may come in. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based approach for working with trauma and symptoms like PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome). Reiki is a gentle, non invasive approach from Japan that is considered Complementary and Alternative Medicine. I use these to help you develop your internal awareness and cultivate a sense of safety in your body.

Lastly, I like using elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which helps us clarify our values and look at therapy goals in terms of the gap between where we are and where we’d like to be. Using some combination of these approaches, will work together to develop therapy goals and a treatment plan that you are comfortable with and excited about!
